About Hannah

After a successful corporate career and a passion for upgrading homes on the side, I embarked on a life-changing journey with a childhood friend, leaving the UK behind to pursue a dream in South Belize. Together, we transformed a rundown bar into a thriving boutique resort. Despite facing challenges like surviving a Category 4 hurricane and overcoming a major fire, we rebuilt from the ground up, emerging stronger each time.

In 2008, we sold the resort to a developer, marking a new chapter in my life. Transitioning into design, I founded Platinum Designs, focusing on art projects, installations, and interiors. Recognizing my true passion for design, I rebranded as Hannah Cowell Designs, venturing into property development and establishing myself as a leading designer in Belize.

My portfolio boasts a diverse range of projects, from charming baby boutiques to luxurious condo hotels and residential homes. My unique gift lies in understanding my clients’ visions and lifestyles, seamlessly blending them with the tropical surroundings to create high-end, personalized spaces, even in challenging locations.

When it comes to style, I believe in empowering my clients to discover and embrace their unique tastes. With expertise in interiors, color theory, trendsetting design, spatial awareness, and custom furniture, I bring their visions to life with finesse and flair. Innate fashion sense, versatility, and business acumen ensure exceptional results tailored to each client’s needs.

Beyond my design work, I’m deeply committed to giving back to the community. As a past president and chair of various voluntary projects, including the BTIA, and currently serving as the consular agent for the British High Commission in the Placencia peninsula, I’m dedicated to supporting children’s education, from sponsorship to university.
